Practicalities
- Each Introduction Workshop will take place from 9:30 to 17:30 at MEDAA, Rue du Prince Royal 85/87, 1050 Ixelles, Belgium.
- The session will be delivered in English and French.
- A certificate of completion will be delivered to participants.
- While all needed material will be provided, participants can bring their own art tools, iPad, computer, or any sort of tablet, if preferred.
- Same for snacks and drinks (please flag any dietary restrictions), but please note lunch is not included.

- Morning: Foundations & Demonstrations
- Welcome & Icebreaker – Get to know each other.
- What is Animation? – Explore FPS, movement, and timing.
- A Brief History of Animation – From early techniques to global influences.
- Types of Animation – Exploring 2D, 3D, stop-motion, and motion design.
- Industry & Career Paths – Roles, routes, freelancing, and tips + career quiz!
- Afternoon: Hands-On Creation
- Storytelling for Animation: Write a short premise made for animation.
- Character & World Building – Create a character and select their world.
- Walk-Cycle Challenge: Build a walk-cycle sequence of your character.
- AfterEffects Demo: Discover the magic of compositing.
- Wrap-Up – Resources, networking, and Summer School preview.
A more in-depth 4 day Summer School is planned for those who want
to learn more: 15-18 July.
